SuperPro Upgrade Kit for Toyota GT86 & Subaru BRZ
A first for SuperPro Europe was the launch of a brand-new range of products to coincide with the launch of a brand-new car: Toyota and Subaru’s much-anticipated sports coupé, badged as the GT86 and BRZ respectively. These cars mark a landmark collaboration between the two major Japanese manufacturers, with both models sharing many of the same mechanical components.
The introduction of a new rear-wheel-drive 2+2 coupé has been well received by many sports car purists. In fact, Toyota, who are expected to sell the greater number of cars, state that the GT86 is ‘entirely driver focused with a large emphasis on fun’.
Both the Toyota and Subaru models feature McPherson struts at the front and double wishbones at the rear. This, coupled with a limited-slip-differential, 53/47% front-to-rear weight balance and 460mm centre of gravity – mainly due to the flat-four ‘Boxer’ engine - gives them a stable and agile chassis platform from standard.
These assets have not gone unnoticed – particularly by enthusiasts and tuners – who are already making plans to develop performance kits and components for these cars. There is also a great deal of interest from motorsport competitors to use the cars for racing, sprinting and even rallying.
With Toyota and Subaru choosing to fit rubber bushes throughout, SuperPro has drawn on its wealth of experience to provide a kit of polyurethane replacements that will enhance the car’s inherent good handling and provide a product that can be used by owners, track day drivers, tuners and motorsport teams from the day it is purchased.
